8 Ways to Clean Your Fake Cartier Jewelry at Home

Your fake Cartier jewelry is lovely even if it’s not made of precious gems or heavy chains. The sad news is it can’t take wear-and-tear the same way fine jewelry can. It tarnishes from water, air exposure and body lotions. It’s hard to keep it looking just as amazing as the day you bought it. Fortunately, these products can keep your jewelry’s luster! Know how to care for your items at home so that they remain beautiful for years to come.

1. Aluminum Foil – This procedure makes use of ion exchange. It purifies and decontaminates the jewelry. Just cover a small bowl with aluminum foil. Pour in hot water and one tablespoon of bleach-free powdered laundry detergent, then mix. Soak your piece on the solution for one minute. Rinse well and air-dry.

2. Soft toothbrush – A soft toothbrush is best for dirt and grime removal. Rub the dry soft toothbrush on the jewelry to remove verdigris (the green pigment that builds up on your fake Cartier jewelry). Soft toothbrushes are a bit more abrasive when they’re dry and do a better job of scraping off grime. If you still can’t get it off, you can also try using toothpicks.

3. Lemon – Ever since, lemon has always been a good cleaning agent. It removes oxide layers (rust) that forms on metals with the passage of time. Cut the lemon in half and rub it on your accessory. You can also dip your accessories in lemonade (with baking soda and salt), leave it overnight, then rinse well and air-dry.

4. White Vinegar – White vinegar makes accessories’ chains shiny. Mix white vinegar with water. Soak the jewelry in the solution and use a soft toothbrush to get into corners and cracks. You can also apply the vinegar to a sponge, and use it to clean the jewelry.

5. Hand soap – Hand soap lets you clean your decorative items and make them smell good. Pour hot water into a bowl. Put one tablespoon of (liquid) hand soap and mix. Place your piece on the solution and let it sit for five minutes. Rinse with cold water and dry with a soft cloth.

6. Microfiber Cloth – Cleaning your jewelry with microfiber cloth makes it safe from scratches. Wipe accessories with a microfiber cloth after each use. This will limit your jewelry’s exposure to water and other elements thus helping it look new even after long periods of time.

7. Baby Shampoo – The ingredients in baby shampoo are milder compared to other cleaning agents. It’s a good way of cleaning jewelry especially pearl parts. Mix one teaspoon of baby shampoo with water. Dip a toothbrush into the solution then brush the jewelry. Rinse it quickly in cold water, and dry with a soft cloth.

8. Clear Nail Polish – A clear nail polish can prevent oxidation, wear, and tear on the jewelry. Just rub nail polish on your accessory to prevent it from rust and verdigris. Doing this will also make your jewelry rich with luster.

You see, cleaning your fake Cartier jewelry doesn’t have to be expensive and tiring. A little time and getting the right ingredients together is all you need to ensure that your accessories maintain that new-ish gleam.
